It's been an eventful 2023 here at Miss Ava's Millinery, with some gorgeous commissions, fabulous clients, another great year of Medway Open Studios, some stunning photoshoots and publications, and even a couple of award nominations! Then to add another eventful twist, I'll be heading off on maternity leave to welcome a new little addition to our family at the end of the year.
As I'm a team of one here (though my husband Steve does do the odd post office run and has often been spotted helping at events) this means I'll have to lock up the studio and close the online shop for a little while.
Here's what it means for the different services and aspects of what I offer:
Bespoke Commissions
Due to lead times, I'll be closing my bespoke order books from early November.
Ready-to-Wear
I'll be keeping my online shop open until early December. You'll still be welcome to book an appointment (see below) to pop in and try things on or collect orders too.
Customisation & Repairs
I'll be fitting in as many as I can until early December, so I'd recommend enquiring sooner rather than later as capacity will be limited.
Studio Appointments
I'll be fitting in as many as I can until early December, but days and times I can offer these will be a bit more limited than normal, so please do book as early as you can.
Tuition and Classes
These will be paused from early November.
All Enquires & Emails
Responses will be a lot slower than normal, even with Steve lending a helping hand too, so please bear with us, and thanks in advance for your understanding!
Re-Opening in 2024
If all goes well, I'll be slowly opening back up in mid-late February, though availably may be limited in those early weeks as I adjust to life with my new little apprentice on the scene.
I'll keep things updated here as best I can, and also on social media. Alternatively, if you join my email list you'll have the latest news pop right into your inbox, so you'll be the amongst the first to know when things re-open in the new year.
