Service Description

Tailored to what you would like to learn, this session is perfect if you would like learn or brush up on specific hat making skills. I will speak to you in advance to find out what you are interested in covering so I can best guide you to make the most of your time. If you're unsure of how long you might need, just ask and I'll offer some advice. Classes are held in my 1st floor studio in Sun Pier House in Chatham, Kent, ME4 4HF, though I can do them online upon request. This allows me to offer hands on guidance and demonstrations. The sessions include the use of my tools and haberdashery supplies, and refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits. If you're interested in a longer or specific hat making project, a group class, or an online lesson, please email info@missavasmilliney.com to have a chat about what I can offer you. What Do I Need to Bring? - Materials are not included, so I will advice you in advance of what to bring and I can suggest suppliers. Some materials can also be purchased separately as needed from the collection in my studio, or in advance by prior arrangement if you're interested in a specific project. - If you have specific materials and trims you'd like to use, feel free to bring them along, or pop me an email to ask about them. - A metal thimble helps with blocking and sewing through often thick layers of millinery materials. - An apron, if you can, to help protect your clothes. A waterproof one is a bonus. But I can provide a fabric one if needed. Payments: Once you've selected your preferred time, I'll be in touch to discuss what you would like to make and to confirm that it's been booked in. An invoice will be emailed to you and will be payable to confirm your booking. If you would prefer to split the payment in two, just ask, and a 50% deposit will be payable upon booking, with the balance due 14 days before the class takes place. Cancellations & Rescheduling: Please provide at least 14 days notice should you choose to cancel your class. As materials are ordered and prepared in advance of each class, refunds are unable to be given if less than 14 days notice is given. However I am more than happy to reschedule to another time.
